Embroidery in Progress

I have had an "auto-tune the news" song stuck in my head. I would encourage you to seek the videos out online but then you'd be mad for having the same dilemma. They sure are catchy.

a view of the new studio.

An embroidery piece (and sketch) I'm working on for the Lucky Gallery show.

My puppet was transformed into a marionette on friday, thanks to Diana and Shiraj. His instruments need some love but I think he's coming together and is very charming.

Lucky Gallery News

A piece I embroidered for our Missed Connections gallery show at LUCKY GALLERY. The opening reception for the show will be the same day of our Attracktion puppet performance, come check us out!

----------------

STRINGS ATTACHED will be performing a puppet show at Lucky Gallery called ATTRACKTION, a rumination on the Missed Connections listings on Craigslist that follows three narratives of individuals through the New York City subway system, as they spot and track objects of their desire. Missed Connections is a public forum where people can post a personal ad expressing a desire to reconnect with someone they saw in their daily travels. Featuring the journeys of a wayfaring minstrel, an imaginative but shy woman, and a helpful purple monster, the show takes the audience with our puppets on a rainy day train ride.

ATTRACKTION and STRINGS ATTACHED artist reception is a Lucky Sunday event on Sept 27 from 3:00 to 6:00pm. Puppet performance is at 3:30.

Laura Arena, owner of Lucky Gallery in Red Hook, wrote a cool bit about the puppet show and put it up on their site. Be sure to check out the opening reception, featuring our 2D work and puppet performance, as well as pieces by Hannah Kasper, and refreshments. A super awesome time will be had by all!
Also there were some very nice pages devoted to yours truly, Diana Ho, and Suzan Choy! Thanks Laura!

Stuff for Lucky Gallery show 9/27

Diana Ho, Suzan Choy and I have been slaving away at our puppet production, it looks like it's gonna be great. It's just a month away and I have so much to do! Probably won't hear from me for a long while, I'm sorry! Maybe I will start drawing again on the train. The train line I'm near now is way less friendly than the N, W. Bummer.

Note: The Really Goodlooking puppet is foxy because Diana Ho made it...also it was modeled after me, and I am a total babe.
The not-so goodlooking puppet is the one man band marionette I am working on.

Come check us out at the end of September, it'll be great!

Also I've been cooking. Have a pancake on me.

suzan and yoswadi

I went to the opening at Destination Art Space on Thursday to see some lovely work by Suzan Choy. Her website and work is crazy pretty. While I was there I discovered Yoswadi Krutklom. Check out her sweet website here.
